Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which cookies Creosoft uses on this website, why we use them, and how you can control them. It should be read together with our Privacy Statement, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.
This policy is provided in accordance with the Dutch Telecommunications Act (Telecommunicatiewet, article 11.7a) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / AVG).
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your computer, tablet, or phone when you visit. They allow the website to recognise your device on a later visit, remember your preferences, and understand how the site is being used.
Alongside cookies, similar techniques such as local storage, session storage, and tracking pixels can store or read information on your device. Wherever this policy says “cookies”, these comparable techniques are included.
2. Which cookies do we use?
We group cookies into four categories. Only the first category is placed automatically; all others require your prior consent.
2.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are required for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. Under Dutch law they may be placed without consent because they are technically essential. They do not store information that identifies you for marketing purposes.
| Cookie | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| PHPSESSID | Maintains your session while you move between pages and submit forms. | Until you close your browser |
| creosoft_cookie_consent | Remembers which cookie categories you accepted or refused, so we do not ask again on every page. | 12 months |
| wordpress_test_cookie | Checks whether your browser accepts cookies at all. | Until you close your browser |
| wordpress_logged_in_* | Keeps you signed in. Placed only for our own staff logging into the site’s administration area, never for regular visitors. | Session or 14 days |
2.2 Functional cookies
These cookies remember choices you make to improve your experience, such as your preferred language. They are placed only after you consent to functional cookies.
| Cookie | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| creosoft_lang | Remembers whether you prefer the English or Dutch version of the site. | 12 months |
2.3 Analytics cookies
Analytics cookies help us understand how visitors find and use the website, so we can improve it. They are placed only after you consent to analytics cookies.
We use Google Analytics 4 to measure how the website is used. It is loaded only after you accept analytics cookies: if you refuse, or have not yet chosen, no request is made to Google and none of the cookies below are placed.
| Cookie | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|
| _ga | Distinguishes one visitor from another so that visits can be counted without identifying you. | 24 months |
| _ga_8JVM1DEED6 | Keeps the state of the current visit, so a single session is not counted several times. | 24 months |
We have configured Google Analytics with IP anonymisation, and we do not use it for advertising, remarketing, or ad personalisation. The provider is Google Ireland Limited; data may be processed outside the European Economic Area under the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. You can withdraw your consent at any time through the cookie settings link in our footer, after which these cookies are no longer placed.
2.4 Marketing and advertising cookies
Marketing cookies track browsing behaviour across websites in order to show relevant advertising and measure campaign performance. They are placed only after you consent to marketing cookies.
At the time this policy was last updated, no marketing or advertising cookies are active on this website. If we introduce advertising tools such as Google Ads or Meta Pixel, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.
3. Third-party content
Some pages may include content hosted by other parties, for example an embedded video or map. When such content is loaded, the provider can place its own cookies, over which we have no direct control. We only load this kind of embedded content after you have given consent for the relevant category.
Our website uses self-hosted fonts rather than a font service such as Google Fonts, precisely so that your IP address is not shared with a third party simply for viewing a page.
4. Your consent
The first time you visit our website you are shown a cookie banner. You can:
- accept all cookies;
- refuse all non-essential cookies;
- or choose per category which cookies you allow.
Refusing non-essential cookies is as easy as accepting them, and the website remains fully usable if you refuse. Your choice is stored for twelve months, after which we will ask again.
5. Withdrawing or changing your consent
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time, with effect for the future. Use the cookie settings link in the footer of any page, or delete the cookies through your browser settings, which resets your choice.
6. Deleting cookies through your browser
You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Instructions for the most common browsers are published by their makers:
- Google Chrome: Settings › Privacy and security › Third-party cookies
- Mozilla Firefox: Settings › Privacy & Security › Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences › Privacy › Manage Website Data
- Microsoft Edge: Settings › Cookies and site permissions
Please note that deleting all cookies also removes your saved cookie preferences, so you will be asked for your choice again on your next visit. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the website, such as contact forms, from working correctly.
7. Personal data and your rights
Where cookies process personal data, that processing is described in our Privacy Statement. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, and object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, if you believe your data is not handled properly.
8. Changes to this Cookie Policy
We may update this policy when we change the cookies we use or when legislation requires it. The date shown at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Material changes affecting non-essential cookies will be accompanied by a renewed request for your consent.
